Sascha Schanze is a Professor of Chemistry Education at the Institute for Science Education at the Leibniz Universität Hannover. After his state examination in Chemistry and Mathematics for secondary schools he completed his PhD in chemistry education at the IPN in Kiel in 2001. As a member of the EU funded projects Co-Lab and ReCoIL that are bringing computer based inquiry learning into classrooms and of the DFG funded Scientific Network NetCoIL, his main focus was on supporting inquiry learning and collaboration using computer-based learning environments. His major research interests revolve around collaborative inquiry learning in science and using and integrating new media in chemistry classroom practice.

Ulf Saballus is a research associate of the CoReflect project coordinating the team of the Leibniz Universität Hannover. He is a PhD student at the Leibniz Universität Hannover whose dissertation will be linked to the CoReflect project. His research focuses on the quality of students’ reasoning in socioscientific issues. Ulf studied Chemistry and Politics to become a teacher and holds the 1st German State Exam.

After her training as a chemical laboratory worker, Melanie studied Chemistry and Math at the Leibniz Universität Hannover to become a teacher for upper secondary level. She just finished her preparatory service at the Wilhelm-Busch Gymnasium and is now teaching at the Gymnasium Twistringen.
Melanie joined the CoReflect project because she is interested in multimedia learning environments and their implementation in classroom practice.

Melanie Söhlke had started studying biology at the Leibniz Universität Hannover but after she had participated on a species-protection project in Madagascar she decided to study biology and chemistry for teaching at upper secondary level. Having passed the 1st German State Exam in 2007, she is now working as a teacher on probation at the Johannes-Kepler-Gymnasium in Hannover.
Melanie participates in the CoReflect project because she believes that discussing socioscientific issues is an essential part of contemporary science education.

Olaf studied biology and chemistry at the Leibniz Universität Hannover for teaching at upper secondary level. He taught at different schools and has a long standing teaching experience.
Olaf joined the CoReflect project to develop learning environments in cooperation with colleagues from school and from university.

Bernhard Sieve is a teacher for Biology and Chemistry at the Elsa-Brandström-Schle, Hannover. Alongside his teaching, Bernhard is working for a German educational publisher.
Bernhard participates in the CoReflect project to develop innovative learning environments.
